project life 2014–week 8

sunday: after church, we tried to have brunch at the maltby café, but it was over an hour wait for a table, so we wound up at denny’s instead. of course, I had to put the cream in my coffee the proper way… perfected in high school. only once has this turned out badly for me… or rather, for the person sitting across from me. monday: shane finally decided to pull his big bin of legos out from under his bed and make them community property. awesome timing, as the kids all had a week off of school. wednesday: I had to go to the mall to buy some new shoes for aerobics. I bribed the kids to go with me by promising them something from the food court. layla got a pretzel, micah got a blizzard, and shane and I both got orange julius. there is something about an orange julius (strawberry, actually) while at the mall that just feels right. thursday: operation clean off the counter in the laundry room! I found the surface of the counter! that’s a big deal. and sorted through all the stuff we’d

sunday: it started snowing saturday night, and left us just enough in the morning to play in AND justify stying home from church. the kids had fun playing, building snowmen, attempting to snowboard, and eating snow. monday: stretching out after aerobics, I enlisted a friend’s help, another decided to help some more! wednesday: my dad called and asked me to stop at the store for him. he gave me his list and I went to pick it up. looking at my cart made me laughing so hard. it’s SO typically my parents! kern’s guava nectar, brown & serve sausages, buddig lunch meats, henry weinhard’s beer, and broccoli and cauliflower. these things are all staples in my parents’ fridge and have been for as long as I can remember. also wednesday: finally took layla and micah to target to pick out some valentines. they got right to work as soon as we got home. micah chose star wars valentines, that had mini glow sticks (lightsabers) that went with them. layla went with truth or dare valentines and s

sunday: minor glitter disaster in layla’s room… monday: 3rd and 4th grade music performance at the school. it was hoedown themed. lots of fun, and layla loved dressing up like a cowgirl. they sang “home on the range” and similar songs, line danced and square danced. lots of fun. tuesday: the “costco train” always seems to come by when I don’t have micah with me. this makes him sad. also tuesday: getting my hairs braided by my favorite stylist. wednesday: yes, my husband uses my head as a phone rest. thursday: this cat’s obsession with getting into the shower the second I get out is getting a little out of hand. he would not get off the mat so I could get out. saturday: dave changing the toyota’s oil. and a big collage from the hoedown. and another from saturday, when shane discovered that our little swampy wetland in the woods was frozen solid. and that’s a wrap. (I love that I’m staying caught up! granted, it’s only 6 weeks in, but it’s a good start.) book shots:

project life 2014 week 5

sunday: micah had a birthday party for a classmate to attend at the bowling alley. the other kids wanted to go and my dad loves bowling, so I let him take them. monday: layla, diligently circling everything she wants in the latest AG catalog… in other words, everything. tuesday: killing some time at petco. they had 2 cages with a ton of mice in them. they were hilarious to watch. wednesday: some early morning tickles from daddy before he headed off to work. this makes micah very sad. (the leaving, not the tickling.) thursday: finally checking out the new exploring garden at the library. friday: I got to follow this all the way down paradise lake road. a trailer full of steaming manure. it was awesome. saturday: as usual, micah is quite excited about pasta. a big collage of extras. book shots:
